7 Stunning Viewpoints in Nice You Can’t Miss : to Fall in Love

Hello, fellow travellers ! Planning a trip to Nice ? You probably know the must-dos, but the real magic happens when you take a moment to admire the city from above. Even after living here since I was 10, I never get bored of those sunsets over the city and the sea—I always end up playing tourist in my own town ! In this article, I’m sharing my 7 stunning viewpoints in Nice where you can fall in love with the city all over again.
01

First stop is Castle Hill. Sure, the castle itself is gone, but the views? Incredible. From up here, you can see the whole Bay of Angels, the Old Town, and the port – basically all of Nice in one glance. 2 viewpoints in one.
You can climb the stairs, or take the free elevator from the Promenade des Anglais. Once at the top, wander around the gardens, check out the little waterfall and admire this view. Local tip: catch the sunset here – the city glows in gold and pink. It’s magic

If you’re into a mix of greenery and epic views, Mont Boron is for me an exceptionnal spot. This is a less known place by tourist, def a local place to visit. The trails through pine forests lead you to some of the most stunning panoramic views of Nice. From up here, you can see the city, Sain Jean Cap Ferrat, and on a really clear day, even Italy.

The Promenade is more than just a walk—it’s a view that never gets old. Seven kilometers of palm trees, endless sea, and the horizon stretching forever. I personally love taking an evening or night walk here after a long day to relax. Sitting on the blue chairs or the beach pebbles, just watching the waves, is the most calming experience. For some of the most stunning viewpoints in Nice, head towards the “I Love Nice” sign—you’ll get a perfect vision of this endless palm tree line along the bay.

This is a spot not everyone thinks of—most people stop at the castle or the “I love Nice” sign and don’t go any further. For me, it’s a much quieter place where you’ll see fewer tourists and can enjoy everything from superyachts to colorful little fishing boats, all framed by the pastel beautiful buildings around the harbor. Early morning is the best time—calm waters, soft light, and no crowds. Honestly, it’s a perfect spot for photos—absolutely dreamy!

If you’re up for a little adventure, the coastal walk from Nice to Villefranche is a must. The path hugs the cliffs and offers nonstop views of the sparkling Mediterranean, hidden coves, and charming villas tucked into the hills. It’s peaceful, not too crowded, and perfect for anyone who loves a mix of fresh air, gentle exercise, and jaw-dropping scenery.

La Réserve is one of my favorite little hidden gems (not hidden for locals in summer). Tucked a bit away from the port, it’s full of tiny beaches and sunbathers lounging on the rocks, soaking up those perfect Mediterranean vibes.
The real magic, though, happens early in the morning—calm waters, soft light, and hardly any tourists around. It’s the ideal spot to relax, take photos, or just enjoy the peaceful beauty of Nice. Not a morning person? No problem—the sunset here is just as stunning, though you might find a few more people around. For me, La Réserve always feels like a secret corner of the city that makes Nice even more enchanting.

Rooftop Bars in Nice – Sip with a View
Not really into hiking? No problem—Nice has some incredible rooftop bars where you can soak up stunning views without lifting more than a pinky. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Farago on the Roof – perched atop the ACH Hotel, it’s perfect for watching the sunset paint the city and sea.
- Hotel Amour Rooftop – a chic spot to unwind and enjoy the vibe of the Old Town from above.
- Le Méridien Rooftop – right above the Promenade, stylish and lively, with amazing sea views.
- Hotel Aston La Scala – super central, with a pool and a full 360° panorama of Nice.
Sometimes, the best way to enjoy a view is simple: cocktail in hand and the sea in front of you.
